It snowed a lot this weekend

We woke up to a wet Saturday morning and by 9:00 am it was snowing! Who would have thought that on March 28th we would have received so much snow. We set new records... I had to work on Saturday so my boys stayed in and played, after nap we bundled up and went out for some time in the snow. Justin says I over dressed Wyatt, if you can see in the picture of him laying in the snow I have Wal Mart bags over his shoes, we recycle in this house. He layed himself back in the snow, he was a snow angel! Then we went for a wagon ride instead of a sleigh ride, and Justin even took Wyatt down the hill on a sleigh. We met our friends the Owen's down at the hill , and that was a picture of the triplets ( Kennedy, Ike, and Madison with their Dad). We really enjoyed the afternoon, it was much different than the morning.
I guess Wyatt had a full on 2 year tantrum, scratched his face, was kicking his legs, and basically scared the Cxxp out of his dad, I mean really SCARED him. If your child has every had a full on temper tantrum would you share in this post? Because Wyatt has been so easy, this really caught Justin off guard. When I called the house around noon, Justin said Wyatt had just had a seizure?!?!?!? After discussing this more with Justin I have decided that it was a tantrum, and that something upset Wyatt and he was not able to communicate what that something was. He was fine after nap yesterday, and had a good day today. He is battling either a cold, or allergies which I have decided occurs pretty regularly in our home. We met with an audiologist on Friday per our Dr's referral because Wyatt has fluid in his ears 80% of the time they are checked. Sooner Starts checks them for us in our home, and then at our 2 year well check last week Dr. Raley checked them and said fluids. Then Sooner Start checked them on Thursday fluids present, then Friday at the ENT clinic, he had fluid in one ear.We see the ENT doctor on April 8th! Fluids as you know can cause a series of problems most importantly language development, and discomfort. We noticed he covers his ears a lot, and the Audiologist said if he has fluids a lot, then when his ears are clear the nose level is uncomfortable for him. Possible solution is tubes! I am okay if they suggest this, I only wish we could have caught this last month when we had him sedated for the other surgery.
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend, and that the work week is good to you! Take time to tell a co worker, stranger, friend, or family member how much you appreciate them, and the job they do!

Gotcha Day.......

One year ago today we stood in a court room in Vladivostok, Russia and petitioned the courts for the adoption of Alekseevich Andrey Balachin, today known as Wyatt Andrey Meacham. The first picture that I have included on the post is our very first picture of Wyatt. The second picture was our referral photo that was sent to us before we met Wyatt. The last two pictures are of my sweet baby boy in more recent months. American for sure, watching a movie in the car, and of course cheering for his favorite football team. What a difference a year makes! Prayer, and Faith have both been an important part of this past year for us, longer really. I remember sitting in the room in Vladivostok the morning after we met Wyatt, wondering what I had gotten myself into? Could I really do this? Was this the plan God had for us? Was it the plan he had for Wyatt? Of course it was. God has been very faithful, and met us at each turn, and boy did we have a lot of turns?!?!? Some days it seems like forever since we have been a family of 3, and other days it seems like this all happened just last week. Now, I can not image my life without Wyatt, a mother's love is so wonderful...... But, a child's unconditional love is also remarkable....... Wyatt, thank you for all the joy you have brought to your daddy, and me. We laugh with you, and sometimes at you because of all the silly things you do. You really enjoy seeing us laugh! You are extremely independent, and rarely will let us know you need anything. It will be interesting to post the next year of milestones in your life. You are a determined little guy, and spend much of your time working through things that most take for granted because it has come so easy for them. You mastered walking a few months back, and are now working on language. At this point you do not say more than a word or two, but I know that when you finally decide you will be saying lots of things all at once! You are curious about anything that rolls, and goes up and down, and now you have discovered those big birds in the sky, AKA Planes. Your word of the month is thrreeeeeee, and just this week you have started saying hot. I have been heard saying this several times over the past year, but thank you to all our family, and friends who continue to check in on us, and continue to walk along the path of Wyatt's life with us. God is good all the time, all the time God is good!!!!!!!!! Let's remember to give him the praise for the Meacham Family of III....... Have a great weekend, we plan to celebrate for the next 8 days because technically we were placed as a family of 3 today, and tomorrow would have to return Wyatt, and then get him again for good on the 28th. Nobody is taking Wyatt this year for those 8 days so do not even try!!!!!

Paper Towel vs Toilet Paper

I have lots of new pictures to share, and experiences from the past week. Some are very important to me, and deserve their own post. We will start with my Uncle Wayne coming for a visit this past weekend. He came to share birthday celebrations with us, he arrived on Friday night. He had a BIG box to give Wyatt, and wanted to go ahead and give it on Friday. Shortly, after we picked Wyatt up from school and came home, Wyatt was headed to our bathroom as usual for toilet paper, I told Wyatt to come here, and leave the paper alone. I looked at Wayne and said we do not play with toilet paper here, and unless he gets some for his birthday we will not have any to play with, not a toy! I am sure Wayne was smiling from ear to ear because little did I know when I made that statement that inside that box was a package of toilet paper, and paper towels among lots of other items. The boys had a blast for hours playing with that paper, and we have saved it, and continue to let him play with it daily. They had paper races down the stairs where they would release both rolls at the same time, and see which roll would make it to the bottom first. Also, one of the pictures is what the room looked like when the night was wrapping up. What a mess.....Wayne, and Wyatt both had a great time, and I want to say thanks for coming Wayne, I know you know this but I must say it anyway, you will never know how much we appreciate all that you do for me, Justin, Wyatt, and even Joni, and Bailey. When I say my Uncle Wayne loves the entire family, I mean he loves the entire family! Two legged, and four legged alike.....

Wyatt Turns 2......

I would say Wyatt had a great day, and he enjoyed all the extras about today. When I took Wyatt to school this morning we were greeted by this display on the door of school. All day long the children continued to talk about the party... Ms. Chris makes a special time at lunch, she asked about Wyatt's favorite dish and prepared that, we then had cake, okay everyone but Wyatt had cake, not one crumb touched his lips. I even offered a bite, and he was not interested! We sang Happy Birthday, and sang Happy Birthday again when Wyatt got a gift from Ms. Chris. Tonight it was just Wyatt, and I because daddy had to work late, but we will be celebrating this weekend in a big way....
Mr. Wyatt I want you to know from the moment I woke up this morning all I could think about was my baby was 2, no longer could I say 22 months, 23 months. I remember when I turned 21 and my mom said she felt so old, not because of her age, but because her baby was 21! I guess this is what I can expect with each one of your birthdays to come, but we have a lot of years to celebrate before you turn 21....... Thank you for being my precious little boy! I have lots of things to share about what a year, but I will save that for next week. Because on the 20th of March we will be celebrating one year as a family of 3...... That would be a great post to share about all the feelings that can happen in a year.
Happy Birthday Wyatt, and Thank you Ms. Chris for making Wyatt's day so incredibly special. Your have a real gift, and a true heart for loving God's children. I was reminded today about how blessed we are to be in your school!

Wyatt takes a flight today!

Both of my boys are in Apache Junction, Arizona...... They flew out this afternoon about 5:00, and for some reason Justin is such a nervous traveler with Wyatt. It was a direct 3 hour flight, and Justin said, Wyatt never really settled down during flight, but he was sitting next to a very nice couple who accommodated Wyatt's need to crawl over the seats, and basically just be moving. I always love it when people ask, " Is this his 1st flight?" We use to say No, and explain that he has been on some International flights already in his young, little life, but no longer do we share that with strangers on a plane. The only small mishap occurred with Wyatt's juice cup that contained V8, I guess at security Justin had to have it tested, and when they returned it Wyatt wanted it then, so Justin gave it to him, and while Justin was putting his shoes on, Wyatt bit down on the cup causing a free flow of red V8 juice, I had Wyatt in a white polka dotted shirt, and light tan pants( white is rarely worn in this house, and today I was reminded why). So Wyatt traveled with stained clothes all the way to see the grandparents, and meet one of his Aunts for the first time!

We also had to make a trip to see Dr. Raley today because I was concerned Wyatt had an ear infection because he has been covering his ears, and had a rough night. I had to wake him this morning, which never happens, and he had green drainage. The Dr. assured me the ears looked good, but that Wyatt has a cold. I have decided that has become a pretty common thing around here. We had one in late December, late January, and again now in early March! I told Dr. Raley I would have probably taken the wait and see approach with this one as well, but since he was traveling with Dad for the next 4 days that I wanted to make sure all was good!

Lastly, I wanted to share about my evening...... I was in bed by 6:00 pm, napping by 6:15pm, and awake by 8:00, and have since been enjoying TV from my wonderful bedroom. I miss my boys, but intend to get lots of R&R while they are away!I do not plan to even work on any projects. I was going to visit the Mall this evening, and decided against that as well.

Good Night......
