Eve of Thanksgiving

I have just put Wyatt to bed, we have a very early morning. We will be out the door by 5:00 am to catch a flight to California to be with our Aunt Laurie, Uncle Craig and their family for the Thanksgiving holiday! I hope all goes well, and we do not experience in delays along the way. I am even planning to get some pictures of Wyatt on the plane( since I have never done that). Can we tell him this is his 1st flight?

As I reflect on another holiday that we will be experiencing as a family for the first time, I want to share what I will be giving thanks for. Wyatt's birth mom! I am so thankful that she chose life, and cared enough for Wyatt that she gave the ultimate gift. It is because of her, and the path that God led us down that we have our precious baby boy. In recent days I have not felt like he was a baby anymore. I guess walking will do that for you?

As you spend time with your family, and friends this Thanksgiving weekend be sure and tell them what you are thankful for. We never know if this will be the chance we get to say all we want to say! Also, let me say thank you to my own family, and friends for your continued support and prayers this past year. Our family has truly been blessed by each of you!

Gotta go finish packing..........

Look Who's Walking...

What a great weekend at our house. It was a very lazy morning in our house, rarely a treat for us.We stayed in our pj's until after we got up from afternoon nap, we then bathed and dressed for Christmas pictures. Yes, our Christmas pictures are done and I will pick them up tomorrow. Wyatt is really starting to walk more, and more. Although you have to remind him to Stand Up! When you do that then he stands up and very wobbly walks around. Another picture is of him in what is turning out to be his favorite chair. It is on loan from Samantha Blue, she had it here at a garage sale and it did not sale, so we brought it in for extra sitting the weekend of the Tech vs OSU game. You may have to wait to get the chair back, Samantha. He loves to climb up in that chair, and then lean back and gently fall to the floor, it is a game to him.The other picture is what I woke up to Sunday morning, Justin says he was helping unload the dishwasher. Not sure if I believe that! I thought it was a cute picture, but kept saying to myself I hope he does not break the door. It must have showed because Justin says he is not that heavy, yet!
Having a new camera, and a live in assistant editor has really created a bug to continue to add pictures to this site. Hope you are enjoying them!

Wyatt's Weigh In!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Dr. Raley's office today and weighed Wyatt........ He is officially in the 20 lb club, and his car seat can now be turned forward facing. He weighs 20lbs 8 ozs, that is an increase of 1 1/2 lbs in 5 weeks, and he has gained an inch in length in 2 months. He stands 30.3 inches tall. Go Wyatt, Go! We are still no where on the growth chart, but we are consistent, and steady with our gains.

We will not change the car seat tomorrow, but to know it is an option is great. I said that maybe I will change it Christmas when we drive to Ruidoso, NM. It is a 10 1/2 hour car ride, and facing forward will allow him to watch a little Baby Einstein on the DVD player.

He is taking steps daily this week, and I will try and capture them on film this weekend and get it posted.

VETERANS DAY...

Kleenex's may be needed...

Today is Veterans Day and I took a group of Senior Adults from church to a concert, and I am sure I was the one that enjoyed it the most, stood there the proudest of being an American, and was the one most thankful for our Veterans and their service to this country. They have fought to move our country forward, to defend our country, and provide us with the freedom we enjoy today. I hope you thanked a Veteran today, if not be sure and thank one this week!

Why was this year any different than in years past? Because as I sang the songs, and listened to the words about GOD BLESS AMERICA, and all the other patriotic songs all I could think about was Wyatt. How very different his life is now vs a year ago. He lives in the land of opportunity and freedom, very different than the country he was born in to. This comes on a day when we celebrate Wyatt turning 20 months old!

Son, I want you to know you can do and be anything you want to because of those that fought for our land. You are an American, and your are God's child! Always remember that God loves you, daddy loves you, and mommy loves you....

Weekend at the Meacham's

What a great weekend........ We had a get together Saturday night to watch the Tech vs OSU game, and Wyatt was enjoying the game as much as the people. I wish you could see his cheek, it has a Tech Tattoo. He is a real fan! He wanted to wear it to church on Sunday so I let him, decided I would need to learn to pick my battles! Smiles..... He has also got to the point he will play with and wear hats occasionally, and had fun with this one on Saturday. I will be going to use the scales at Dr. Raley's office later in the week and will post an update about his weight! Also, I forgot to mention that Wyatt took 4 steps at the church nursery last weekend, and then on several occasions has taken more throughout the week. I BELIEVE now for sure it is about gaining confidence that he can do it!!! I will post another picture later this week and show you the toy he pushes around and you will understand what I mean about CONFIDENCE. Remember you can click on the picture, and make it larger for viewing. When you do this you can see his cheek, and runny nose, and when will the boy stop teething?!?!?!?

Todays Dilema!!!!!!

So I am getting ready for a garage sale this weekend, and I had been collecting a few of Wyatt's items that he has outgrown and was going to add them to the sale. Granted it is only a few items because he has not outgrown much, but the items are 2 nighttime sleepers, a pair of shoes, and a pair of shorts. So your asking what's the problem?

The problem is I have decided I might not be able to part with them. The shoes were his 1st pair, the shorts were his first pair he has outgrown, and one of the sleepers was what he slept in the very first night we had him in Russia with us. See the problem?

Will I always want to keep everything? Any suggestions on this matter, post up before the sale starts on Friday!

Busy Weekend...

These are some pics of Wyatt in his Halloween costume at the Rykers Halloween carnival last weekend. One is of Wyatt pushing his fire truck around, which is how he gets around most of the time.( Thanks again Sassy for the push toy) The one to the right is our lovely hostess Julie Ryker playing a game with Wyatt (he was burning up so we had to take him out of the penguin suit). The picture below that is me (Justin) and Wyatt getting ready to change out of the costume. And the one to the left of that is Wyatt and mom getting ready for the Texas Tech blowout against Texas. Wyatt is one of Tech's biggest fans, he just does not know it, yet. Guns Up!!!!!!! This week is OSU, and we have plans to enjoy a watch party here at the house next Saturday. I had hoped for pictures on Halloween, but Justin had to work late, and my new camera got messed up (operator error) and would not let me take any pictures. We will pretend the ones we have were taken on Halloween. Thanks for helping to post this blog, Justin! Both of us were editors of this entry!
