Updates........

I heard from the Attorney today that has been in contact with the birth mom, and things are "muddy" right now. What I mean by that she is struggling...... Struggling with her decision if she should parent or place for adoption. With out sharing lots of information about birth mom, I will share that I do not think it is an option for her to parent. She has two older children that she is not parenting. May she feel some peace, and guidance in the days and weeks ahead. Can you commit to praying for all birth moms, and adopted families in the weeks ahead? November is National Adoption Awareness month! We are okay with this situation because we have said from the beginning it will work out the way it is suppose to. My greatest concern is for the baby.... On another note I have been taking my foster/adoption classes for two weeks now, and I have 2 more weeks ( Tues/Thurs nights), and then I am finished. Justin starts his in a few weeks, and he will be doing Saturday classes. We did not want Wyatt to have to be in extended care as we were trying to complete these classes. These classes have been "eye opening" classes for me, and some have been sad. I have been told at the last session we will get to hear from some of the children in the system, and what their experience has been. I hope everyone has a GRRRRREEEAAAAATTTT weekend!

Weekend away from home.......

This past Friday we left for Lubbock to enjoy a long weekend! We made several important stops before returning home on Monday evening! First stop was at the eye Doctor in Oklahoma City, and I am glad to report after 18 months of patching we are officially done...... That was such great news to receive, and an answered prayer for sure. Then while in Lubbock we attended our first College Football game, Texas Tech vs Kansas State! It was a good game to go to because we won, but it was a COLD game! Wyatt really seemed to enjoy the Goin Band from Raiderland. Not such a great picture at the game, but I was determined to be in a photo, since I rarely am! Monday before heading home, we went to Ralls for a Women's luncheon. I was the guest speaker, and they wanted me to share our Adoption story! I loved spending time with these ladies, Ralls will always hold a very special place in my heart because I spent lots, and lots of time there with my grandparents. We were sharing our stories about grandmother, and grandaddy. They really touched a lot of lives, and I still miss them so much!

Praying for Birthmom

What a wonderful, crazy, exciting week! I got a call on Monday from a friend of mine, and her best friend is an attorney that specializes in adoptions. We discussed about mine and Justin's plan to add to our family, and she asked me to call her attorney friend. I did..... This attorney has been approached this past week about a girl who is 7 months pregnant, and the girl wants to place the child for adoption. So, the attorney asked me to complete a life book, I did and got it to her yesterday, and she meet with the girl today to see what her intentions were, and share our book! I do not want to disclose to much information about the biological mother, and father but I will say she wants to look at a group of life books, narrow it down to a couple of families, and then visit with them in the next couple of weeks! So, my prayer request is that this birth mom will feel loved, have peace about her decision, and feel God's presence in this situation. I told the attorney today, now that I have been involved with and mentoring young girls through a crisis pregnancy outreach, I have a new understanding of the decisions these young women face. I am happy that this person is taking the time, and really putting thought in to her adoption plan. She will have so much more peace because she is doing this, and the adoptive family should feel more secure about her final decision, and the fact that she will follow through with her plan because of the work she is doing now. I feel good about this situation, and know that if it is suppose to work out for my family it will, God is guiding all of us. Please lift this girl up in prayer during the weeks ahead! I will keep you posted as we learn more........

Wyatt & Mommy go to Disney on Ice.........

So Wyatt and I went to Disney on Ice at the Fair tonight, thanks to a niece of Lucille Brown. She provided us with free tickets, and the parking was free, and the admittance to the fair afterwards was free. Thank you so much for the tickets, and allowing Wyatt and I to enjoy a Disney ice show. But, let me tell you what was not free! See the whirly thing Wyatt has, I have seen these at Target for about $4, but have always put them back because I thought it will be broke or Wyatt will be through playing with it before we get home, what a waste I have always thought. Well, today we bought a Disney whirly for $20.00, yep you read right, $20.00! We walked past several concessions that were selling them, and Wyatt never yelled out for one, or caused a scene, but he would break his neck looking back after we would pass by. So, I stood there and had a conversation with myself and thought this guy thinks I am a mean mom. So, I gladly paid the amount and we went to our seats. I was really wanting some cotton candy, Wyatt would not care about it, but I thought we could share this 1st experience, but when the price was $10.00 I decided we would have that first experience another time........ Prices are outrageous.......... But, Wyatt had a great time, he seemed to really enjoy Disney Cars, and a few scenes from Tinkerbell made him laugh!!!!!!!! He was pointing at a Fairy coming from the rafters.......... It really was a magical day, and I am glad to know that Wyatt enjoyed it, and can sit through productions like this. Justin and I have not taken him to anything because we did not know how he would do. You know I would pay a million dollars for happiness, okay maybe not a million, but I have started to realize over the past few years you can not put a price tag on memories, happiness, or spending time doing the things you enjoy, or with people you enjoy. Our Disney whirly will be enjoyed for a day, or maybe for years but we already got our monies worth!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moments with Wyatt are priceless to me.................
