To my family and friends who have continued to follow our story, I have a request to make. We will be having a garage sale in August with all proceeds benefiting the orphanage that Wyatt and
Anastiya came from! Our friends the Costello's (
Anastiya's parents) are the ones who came up with the idea, and asked if we wanted to participate. Not only do we want to participate we want to raise the most money, show them Oklahoma does it right. Of course there are no losers because it all goes to the children, and making a small difference at the place that Wyatt called home for the first year of his life. The Costello's were one of the families that we were with in Russia, and traveled a very emotional journey with them. We were so glad to be able to share the journey with them. If you have not gone to their blog site you really should, it is linked from mine and is titled
Oh the places we will go, once you are on the site then you need to scroll down to the bottom, see where she says continue the journey, scroll down to the bottom and click a 3rd time to get to the current postings. It takes a minute to get there, but well
worth the read once you are there! Katie takes the most amazing pictures, and tells the most amazing stories and from time to time will even tell you stuff about Wyatt that I do not mention on my site.
With all that being said here is what I need. I need items to sell, so if you live locally, or in
Brownwood, or in Lubbock and have stuff to donate let me know. I will be going to Lubbock in July, and can bring it back. My brother and sister in law will be coming to Tulsa in late July, and can bring items from that location( thanks Stephanie & Don). Also, I could use some volunteers to help price, and the weekend of the sale volunteers to manage the sale. The sale is scheduled for the first part of August.
Anyone who has known me long knows that when I was 11 years old I opened my first store it was called Lisa's Furniture, Appliances, and Clothing. When we were cleaning out my grandparents house a couple of years ago we found a picture, of a SKINNY 11 year old girl standing in front of her store, with the professional sign in the background. Also, many of you know that I love to have garage sales, something about the wheeling and dealing that just makes me HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY. So I could not think of a better challenge to accept when Katie Costello asked me to get on board with the project. This event may just end up being bigger than me or what I could have ever imagined.
If you can help with items, your time pricing, or your talents on sale day PLEASE let me know. Thank you for continuing to follow our journey, and thank you for your prayers, and thank you for being such great family, and friends.
I guess I would have thought you all would be tired of the
Meacham's story by now, but who knows maybe someday we will have Justin and Lisa plus seven. So you each may need to stick around for years to come, and see the plan that God has for us! We serve an awesome God...
