Last Saturday in VLAD

The countdown has officially begun.

Today was long, and last night was short because Wyatt has not been sleeping well. After, I put him down last night he was not interested in falling asleep so I put him in bed with me for a while. We had the best bonding experience, we kissed on each other, he kept putting his hands on my face, and then we also played a game that involved pulling the covers over our head. At 10:00pm I realized he was showing no sign of being tired so I put him in his crib, and went into the living room to visit with Justin. It was there that I sat and cried in my orange juice. I am not even sure what I was crying for.... Maybe because I did not feel well, maybe because of the bonding that had just occured, maybe because we are so homesick, who knows... But, we ended it by laughing and laughing. As much as I am homesick I would not want to be anywhere else in the world right now. We have the most precious little boy, and we have really enjoyed taking this time, with no distractions to get to know him!

We are posting two new pictures that were taken today. One was us at the Bay, we snuck Wyatt and Gavin out the backdoor of the hotel so as not to see or expose any other children. It was a very good outing! The other picture is of Justin doctoring Wyatt after his oatmeal bath. We were concerned about giving him a bath because Irina said no baths for 8 days, but I decided if it was going to cause the bumps to blister, then lets get the show on the road. He currently has about 70 spots, and only about 10 have blistered to this point.

I wanted to say Thanks to each of you for your continued posts, we love reading them, and anytime a new person writes a note, that is always sweet. Laura, I will read your families story very soon, thanks for sharing. Carole, I hope you and the others travel safe.

4 more nights in this hotel room then we are headed for home. I am headed to meet Katie and Melissa right now we are going to sit in the stairwell and share a glass of wine!

P.S I want you each to know if there are misspelled words on this blog please forgive me. When I type remotely it does not allow for spellcheck which drives me crazy!

We LOVE reading all about your journey. We anxiously await each blog. We are so thankful to have this great technology so we can stay connected and feel that we are all somewhat there with you! We love reading about your precious family. Also wanted you to know that Aunt Deb asks about you and continues to pray for all of you as well! I went to see Becky Keys yesterday (yes, she is doing my nails now!) and she has not had the opportunity to get on her computer, but wanted me to assure you that she has been praying constantly for you 3!!!! And yes, I caught her up to speed.

Enjoy these last few precious days! We anxiously await your arrival home! We cannot wait to meet our surragate nephew!

Much love and many prayers,
The Scott Family

I enjoyed your bedtime story! One night I was trying to get Aiden to go to sleep and he was having none of it! I decided to close my eyes and pretend to be asleep. He was nose to nose with me when I finally gave in and started to laugh. He thought he was soooo funny! May you always have such wonderful moments.

We love you,

Aunt Laurie and Uncle Craig

Can I just say, that I cried all the way home from the hospital with Crosby! No idea why, but I sobbed! I have not thought about that for sooo long until I read your blog.
Anyway, every moment is so precious and I thank you for sharing them with us. Your blog has once again reminded me of how sweet even the most trying times can be.

We love you all,
Jane

Thanks for continuing to share your life and stories with us. I must admit I go the this blog everyday just to see if a new post is up. I am so happy for you guys. But mostly I am excited that you guys get to come home soon. Mostly so Wyatt can see what his house, room, toys and doggies are like. And so of course he can feel the incredible of love of everyone who has been waiting for him.

Give him some extra kisses for me.

Kris

Well, Well, well you've spent your last Saturday in Russia. Hooray!! We are so excited and can not wait for you all to get here. I hope your shopping went well. We just finished lunch and are getting ready to head out for an adventure bike ride. You'll have to get Wyatt a "special car" so the 3 of you can go with us. The sun is shining here today and the sky is blue, the temperature is low 60's and not much wind so a pretty nice day. We are still praying for the 3 of you and can't wait to get you off the top of our prayer list!:) I love thinking about you being ahead of us and knowing it's Sunday for you all now although you're sleeping but still it just makes the flight on Wednesday that much closer! We'll have our video camera charged so we can take pics of your arrival at Tulsa Int'l. Love to you 3,
Rykers

The bedtime story is such a special story. I remember when Austin used to stuggle with me in bed. Now he thinks he is too big for that mushy stuff. Every once in a while he will cave, but not often. ENJOY IT. Lynda Beth on the other hand will still crawl in bed with me and love on me. I hope you three have a wonderful last few days together. I feel like you are so far away, but feel so close when we read your postings. We need to work on a scrapbook for Wyatt and put all these blog stories in it. It will be so much fun. Lord knows I have enough scrapbooking supplies that we need to use. He will love reading this later in life. He will know that all these wonderful people reading these postings fell in love with him and we haven't even met him yet. Can't wait for you guys to be home. Let me know if you need me to do anything for you.

Love ya,

Sabra

Hey, just got your 2 new pics posted. Sorry for the delay! It's been a big Ryker Saturday here.

Isn't it amazing that what seemed so awful--the delays, the whole rigamarole--has allowed for this great bonding experience? You three are starting off your lives together with a great adventure.

If you'd gotten what you'd have wanted in the beginning (and what we wanted *for* you)--to get Wyatt and get home ASAP--you wouldn't have had all the adventure, the cocoon-like isolation from work and life here (and from folks like us :) ), the forced dependence upon one another while you're there...

This situation has *forced* you to be just the 3 of you, just getting by day after day...loving and hugging and giving baths and all that...

I may not be saying this in the most elegant way, but you get what I mean, right? I'm just saying, God is good, and somehow this works for His plan. Even the doggoned chickenpox.
