Chicken Pox are here........
Well we woke up this morning to learn that Wyatt has his first bumps, so we officially have Chicken Pox. He seems to be doing pretty well, was running a fever this morning, but we have given him tylenol and are keeping an eye on his fever. He continues to eat so at this point not a lot that can be done, and we also learned that Gavin ( Sam & Melissa's son) got bumps today as well. So together we will get through this, and only hope that the troublesome family does not make a stink. But, I am wanting to do what is right for everyone because this is very personal to me and my family. When my mom was pregnant with my oldest brother she contracted German Measles in her 2nd trimester, and that is the reason that my oldest brother, Mike is deaf. I would not want to expose any pregnant women to this virus during our travel if she has not had the vaccination or the pox/ measles. We will wait and see how this progesses and then make a decision on Monday. On top of all this I woke up with a very sore throat today, and only hope it starts to get better and not worse in the coming days. Justin was sick earlier in the week, and is finally feeling better today!

We are praying the Meachams are all better soon! It is amazing that it took both the boys this long to break out! Praise God that all this is only temporary! Try to keep your chin up! We love you 3!

So sorry to hear that!:( Thankfully Samantha sent you the care package so hopefully you have everything you need to get through this. My 86 year old aunt swears by garggling with hot salt water for a sore throat. We pray everyday for you all. God is still in control and He has not forgotten about the Meachams in Vlad. We will pray for quick healing, protection and still no delays for coming home. We love you all and thanks for the update.
Love to you 3,
Rykers
Well poop!!! So sorry, but tell that other lady to chill out....it is just the chicken pox! It isn't like Wyatt has polio! For the love of Pete! Well - I hope it goes well. How long do the pox last? Now that they vacinate for this, I have no idea...WE will be praying for you all as always!

Darn it! Well, I guess the good thing is, he will get it over with. Man, what an experience this trip has been for yall. I understand the other family's concern. Maybe yall could just stay out of their site for a while. I pray this will be a light case and that he makes a speedy recovery. I also pray that you get well too. Stay strong Lisa, yall are doing great!
I'm sorry about the bumps but I think you'll still be ok to come home on time, should be scabbed over by then. Might want to e-mail Dr. Raley or Dr. Spock about how long you need to wait to travel. Give him hot baths to break all the way out quickly. Some doctors feel that they are not contagious even if they still have a few active blisters. We waited days for one last blister on Emily's finger to go away only to find out she could have gone back to daycare with that...and that was 19years ago! Praying for quick healing for you both. Hot lemonade soothes the throat, for that matter so does whiskey ;) Love you all, Rebecca Brown
I am so sorry to hear about little Wyatt........at least his mommy and daddy are there to take care of him and Lisa, mom's cant get sick. You have to take care of yourself..maybe with all the excitement and just not getting enough rest you are just a little worn down. You and Wyatt can rest together. I am glad to hear Justin is feeling better. Well you guys take care of one another and we will pray for a speedy recovery for all.
Love,
Stephanie
Oh man...will pray for fast healing! Lisa, you need to rest and get feeling better! Wyatt will be needing his Mommy over the next couple of days. Love ya!
Angie
Sorry to hear that Wyatt broke out. It's not the best time for this but might as well get it over and done with. Salt water is great for sore throats, gargle with it several times a day.
Remember you are well loved and many, many people are keeping you in their prayers.
Love to you three,
Aunt Laurie and Uncle Craig
Lisa,
When Taylor broke out with chicken pox a warm oatmeal bath help relieve the itching. Make sure Wyatt's nails are cut short so he wont scar himself with the itching. We are praying for you guys, give my baby bro a big kiss for me and kiss Wyatt too. We cant wait to meet him!
Love Jeniece
Dear Lord,
Please put your healing power to work for the Meacham Family for a quick recovery. I pray that you keep your arms of protection over them to keep them safe. You have a plan and only you know that plan. You are an awesome God. Amen
Lisa and Justin,
You guys are doing awesome. Thank you for allowing us to share this journey with you. I wish I could get on plane and be there to take care of you guys while you are sick. Keep your spirits high and your faith strong. We love you all.

Lisa & Justin- so happy (not about the chicken pox!) to hear you guys have come this far. Silly me finally figured out how to get the recent blogs (I was stuck in January!!) and am now up-to-date. What an amazing story you will have to tell Wyatt someday! I will pray for your continued strength and for Wyatt's quick recovery! Everything about your story, your family, is truly a miracle from God! This adorable baby boy is meant for great things in the U.S. of A. as a Meacham!!! Thank you for sharing your experience with us in such detail. Can't wait to see you ALL! With love & prayers,
Monica Poston
Dear Precious Family, So sorry that Wyatt got the pox!! How are you feeling, Lisa? I hope that your sore throat is better. I am praying that you feel better soon.

Lisa~
I have been keeping up with your blog for a few months now but have never left a comment. My husband, Sam, worked for your parents and is still good friends with them. Anyway, I had to write and tell you I've been praying for you guys and especially little Wyatt. I hate to hear that he's broken out; hopefully he'll have a mild case. Our son Thomas had them when I was 6 months pregnant and we were on vacation at the time. We were only in New Mexico, so not anywhere near as far away from home as you guys are! In case you get bored you might want to read about our chicken pox adventure!

Take care!

would you mind if I use your child's picture in a presentation about chickenpox? you would be surprised to know the numbers of parents who think chickenpox is some kind of "rite of passage." This is a serious illness and your child has an unusual shade of green going on....:-) So would you mind if I got a copy of this photo and used it in my presentation? Appreciate the input.
