Let's hope he looks better than this after surgery!

Okay, this update is really a two part update. I have been wanting to share this photo of my tough, little guy. It was taken about 2 weeks ago, and this was his first, but I am sure not his last bloody lip! He was sliding down the stairs on his stomach( this is his preferred method of coming down the stairs), and he caught a little air and I guess bit his lip. He fussed a moment, but then continued on, and when we got to the bottom of the stairs I was playing peek a boo, coming behind him, he was fussing and I finally said out loud " I thought you liked this game", not as if he responded, but I still made the statement. I turned around to go the other way, and catch him head on and that is when I saw this picture. It really scared me at first, but as soon as I cleaned his face, I could not even find where the blood came from.
The other thing to share is we saw the ENT doctor today, and it was confirmed we will be having an Adeniodectomy, and tubes placed on Thursday, April 23rd. Dr. Hall said we would see lots, and lots of difference within a week of having the surgery. He said lots of his patients are saying lots of new words when they come back for their 10 day post op appointment. He did not even have to lay hands on Wyatt, and Justin was very impressed with his knowledge. I was impressed because he never made me feel rushed, and he answered as many questions as I asked! He had a good insight because of the reports I shared with the Audiologist a week ago. The chronic fluid, and lack of language was what decided it for him before he ever walked in the exam room. We feel good about this, and again just hope all goes well, and that recovery is quick. I will post more information in the weeks ahead! As you know I have shared my frustration of colds/allergies every month since October, and come to find out it has not been this at all. Dr. Hall says that when the adenoids are small, and clogged that drainage has to occur somewhere, in Wyatt's case it is both with his ears, and his nose!
Wyatt is a trooper, and Justin has mentioned that as bad as he feels for " the little guy", he feels very thankful that Wyatt is here, and we can get him all the medical attention he needs, and get this taken care of.

Isn't is amazing how much blood flows from the smallest facial injury?
So glad to hear that you have the ear surgery for Wyatt already on your schedule. We'll keep Wyatt in our prayers for successful results.

Love you all,
Aunt Laurie

Sweet angel...poor boy! We LOVE Dr. Hall. Andrew had his adnoids out and tubes. He was not walking, but a month later, walking like a pro! Also, it goes by fast, I did not even get through two commercial breaks on the show I was watching! Will be thinking of you.
