Our emotional first day!!!!!!!!
Thank you to each of you that have continued to post, it feels good when we get on here to update and you have shared back with us!
Where to begin.... We traveled to the orphanage today with 3 other couples, all of them are back for their 2nd trip. We were the only ones here for the 1st trip and meeting our son for the first time. He is small, but very, very active. All he wanted to do today was crawl, and play with his toys. He did not really care much about Justin or I holding him, but at the end of our time with him, he fell asleep in my arms, sucking his two middle fingers. Can you believe, I cried when I met him, I cried during our play time, and I cried when I had to leave him there today. Justin and I brought an outfit, that was a 6-12 months and it swallowed him. He is more like 3-6 months in his clothing. Tomorrow we will go back to the orphanage, just the two of us because the other couples have their court date, and will then be moving to a long term hotel, so the rest of the stay it is just Justin, and I here at the Hotel Hyundai.
Interesting things that happened today were:
It was a good thing I had toilet tissue because while at the orphanage, I used their bathroom and all they had was newspaper?!?!?!?
When ordering an American Hamburger you will have to decide if you want it with Beef, Chicken or Fish?!?!?!? ( just a suggestion do not order the burger, or if you do just know it is not an AMERICAN burger)
Remember when you are packing your camera for any trip, make sure that you have your memory stick.
When using a video camera be sure it is turned off after use, if you do not want to use up all the battery.
In response to some of your comments:
Aunt Laurie, you are right who would I be able to talk to. Although, I know about 5 or 6 Russian words, and it would get me somewhere.
Breck, thanks for reminding me about the awkwardness, because there was some of that today. Justin and I did paper, rock, sissors for the first diaper change. I lost..... Breck, I do not snore even when I am tired. Am I still DTY? That is cool about you sharing Griffin's story and thanks for giving an update on the Meachams.
We love all you guys, and look forward to sharing Wyatt Andrey Meacham with each of you, once we get him to his forever home.
Love ya
Lisa

I'm so excited for you both. I want you to know that I have been thinking of you so much in the last few days. Merry Christmas. Love Mom Meacham
This is so fantastic you're being able to communicate with us back here in the U.S. Your account of your first meeting reminds me of ours. This is where your faith comes in just trusting and believing God that this is His plan. I cried when I read your Momma said "tell my grandson Merry Christmas". God is sooooo GOOD! We are continuing to pray for you all and are just so grateful to get to share in your adventure via the internet! Cannot, absolutely cannot, wait to see your pictures, I'm hoping by your comments there will be pictures of Wyatt Andrei and not just pics of you and Justin on your way to Vlad!:) Love to you 3,
Rykers
Merry Christmas! It is so wonderful that you take the time to keep all of us up to date on your activities. I can't imagine what a great adventure this is for the two of you. Wyatt Andrey Meacham sounds like a delightful little guy and we can't wait to meet him.
Love to all of you,
Aunt Laurie and Uncle Craig
Lisa and Justin,
How amazing for you both! You have been in my thoughts all day, and I said a special prayer for you at Mass last night. I can't wait to see ya and hear all about it! My parents say hi and are praying for you as well. Enjoy the rest of your time and travel safe. See you soon!
Love,
Joanna
I thought of you often yesterday and today. I did not sleep well last night and I wanted to get up several times during the night to check your blog, to see how your first day went, but I didn't because I did not want to wake the kids. I guess we have to go shopping again to get smaller sizes. When babies start to crawl they usually do not want to be held much, so it is not you. Enjoy your time with Wyatt and make sure Justin changes at least one diaper before you leave. Can't wait to hear about your second day with Wyatt.
Love ya,
Samantha
What a way to spend Christmas!!! I am so happy for you both. It is hard to not bust out in tears reading all of your updates. That's a great idea to keep everyone posted on your wonderful experience! I'd love to have a home video night at the Meachams! I can't wait to see pictures and hear more stories. Enjoy your time there with him. You are so blessed! Hope to see you soon.
Love, Diane

Mr Wyatt will be here soon snuggled between his mama and dada.....you will see ..best wishes.
I'm glad to see you arrived safely and had such a wonderful first visit. I've thought of you often today, especially while opening gifts, realizing that a year from now, you and Justin will be doing that with Wyatt. Am anxiously waiting to hear about your next visit! Have fun and cherish your time with Wyatt.

Sandi
