Adopt(ed)
Tonight I went to a fundraiser that was promoting adoption/fostering, and raising funds to support the ministry of adoption through Church of BattleCreek. What touched me tonight was that someone said," Some are orphans because they do not have living parents, and some are orphans because they do not have loving parents." It just confirmed what God has been doing in our lives............ Justin and I have made the decision in addition to pursuing another adoption, we are going to also be open to fostering. We had completed our initial paperwork last week, they called yesterday and said background checks are in, and they are coming on Friday to the house to do an in home visit! For me the reason is simple...... As I think about where Wyatt spent his first year of life, and as thankful as I am that his most basic needs were met, feedings, bathings, changings they did not do anything above and beyond that. No kissing, no eye contact, no hugs, no feelings of specialness that every child wants and deserves. This is something that Justin and I have and can give to a child(ren) that will help their start in life be different than Wyatt's. Wyatt is a special one, and he has really changed my life! It was confirmed for me tonight that we are following God's plan for our family, and I sat amazed tonight at the work being done through BattleCreek's Adopt(ed) ministry. I will be contacting those at my church to see if we can come together as a church body, and serve families touched and changed by Adoption. Thank you Molly, Steve, and Norma for the invitation to dinner, and to what I consider a "life changing evening!"

Yeah! So glad you came, it was nice to finally meet some blog faces. :) Excited to hear about what God does next through your family. Foster care is such a wonderful ministry!
I was so blessed to have been there and so wish the Rykers could have come. Here are some others to consider at SHBC...the Gravers and Jacksons! Adopt(ed) has been more than instrumental at helping us to get our ministry started at Crossings and I know they want to do the same at any and every church willing in the Tulsa area. Can you imagine how we could change our state by starting with our children???
Love seeing you even if for just a bit. You are precious and we are praying for you and can't wait to see what God is doing within your family!
how awesome! keep us posted on the happenings.
How exciting! I will be praying for your family daily...God has many plans for you and I look forward to hearing about them all!
