Wyatt's First Road Trip

We left Friday night at 8:00pm for Brownwood, Texas to be with family this weekend. Wyatt was interested in the sights until about 9:00 pm when it got dark, and then it was off to dream land for him. He only briefly woke up a couple of times, but never made a sound. We arrived at my moms at 3:00am, Wyatt woke and babbled at my mom briefly, and crawled. We put him in the pack n play at 3:30 am and he sat in there until 4:30 am, never making a sound. He slept until 10:30 am Saturday morning. We got ready and went to my brother and sister in laws about 1:00 pm. We had lunch, dinner, and cake there. Wyatt enjoyed the cake so much, it was his introduction to cake, and I was not sure he would like it because to this point he has not liked anything sweet. Stephanie, Beky, Natasha and many others had a little party for Wyatt. He received several more toys, all of which he loves, and several of which we got to hear all the way back to Tulsa. I will be dreaming about Patty Cake, Do my ears hang low, BLUE EAR all night long!!!!!! Thanks Moreland family for a great weekend. We got some great pictures, and I PROMISE to post new pictures this week.

Between lunch and dinner we went to the state park so the kids could swim ( it was 100 degrees on Saturday), Wyatt put his feet in the sand and water. He loved it!

On Sunday was very special because my brother was baptized, and I celebrated my 1st Mother's Day. It was a great day.

I wondered how Wyatt would do on the car ride home because we were traveling during the day, he did well. He took a 2 hour nap, but other than that he was up, and patiently rode along in his car seat. All of this even though I do not think he is feeling well. He has had a runny nose since Friday, mostly clear but occasionally will get green gunk mixed in. Also, he has been sneezing, and on Friday was tugging at his ear, but not since. Also, his appetite is not what it has been, but today it seemed just about back to normal. I mention all of this to say that tomorrow is my first day back to work, and I was concerned I would have to call in with a sick child. I knew my boss would wonder who was sick, Wyatt or Mommy not wanting to leave Wyatt?!!??!!?

I will keep everyone posted about my first day back, and also I will be throwing a challenge out to you readers. My Ohio friends the Costello's have offered up a challenge and we have accepted, more details to follow.

Have a great Monday!

You are lucky Wyatt is such a good little traveler! Some children,I'm not naming names, cry and scream as they travel. Fortunately that behavior is improving.

Have a good first day back at work.

Love,
Aunt Laurie and Uncle Craig

PS I love the picture. It makes me smile every time I see it.

He's with his loving "Nanny Em" today. She will take good care of him. Unfortunately allergies are in the air. Glad you had a great first mother's day, and with your family. Thought about you. Praying you have a good first day back. Call home as much as you want to check on him. Love you, Rebecca

Hey Lisa...my first day back to work too....BOY, NOT EASY. So conflicted. It was sooooo hard to leave Anastiya...but once I was at work, I did well. Can't wait to hear more about your day!
I am off to my website to post more, too!
We got the picture of Wyatt..first off, GREAT picture. NICE photography!! I love the saying...it is great! I said "There now, he looks just like a little boy from Oklahoma, doesn't he?" And Sam agreed. We showed Anastiya and she turned her head to the side and smiled at the picture.
Miss you!
Hugs!
Katie, Sam and Anastiya

I'm so glad we ran into you this weekend. Wyatt is a sweetie! Maybe when you come for a longer visit we can get our boys together to play!
Hope your first day at work went well!

HI Lisa

I love hearing all your stories. You make them very fun and interesting, and I always get excited when I see a new posting! I was thinking of you all weekend and thrilled you had such a special 1st Mother's Day!!! You have such a precious little boy, and I love his picture. What a HAM!!! Of course, you know I'm partial to little boys, and they are so good about loving their mommies! I'm hoping to be home shortly over Father's day. Hope we can get together for a play date.

I guess he was in Texas afterall with that giant bib. What fun it looks like he had with his birthday cake! Now that he's had a taste of the sweet life there is no turning back! Fantastic pictures and how cool to be able to celebrate two wonderful events or three if you count Mother's Day. Hope life is settling down for you all.
Love to you 3,
Rykers
